After spending two hours setting a possible
World Record in a rowboat,
I couldn't help but climb the rest of the way up to the summit of Mt
Evans and try some pedestrian mobile. It was a nice day at 14,260 feet.
The most interesting contact was when I finally got to talk to Mark,
KIØPF, on 17 meters for the first time ever. He lives in
southern Colorado about 70 miles away. Usually, if he and I are out
playing radio at the same time, we will ask our contacts, often on
the East Coast, to relay our greetings to each other.
